9/21 Saturday— Nice Fluke and the Blues remain..

We had some nice Fluke hit the scale Friday. Paco weighed one that was 4.00lbs and Polish Al weighed in 2 over 4.00lbs biggest going 4.70lbs! All the fluke were caught on the Surf using Fresh Mullet. That’s what these fish are feeding on right now. Saturday is the last day for Fluke so get your fishing in. The Bluefish are still all over the area. Everything we heard was Fresh Mullet on a Mullet Rig. Our Mullet guys were able to load us up on Fresh Mullet for Saturday. Weather looks great both days this weekend. Saturdays weather… Mostly Sunny. High 79. Winds West 10-15mph.

9/20 Friday— Better conditions going into the weekend!

Tough conditions Thursday with the NE Winds but nicer days are ahead. Westerly winds return Friday and it’ll continue through the weekend. Weekend looks beautiful. The ocean is calming down as we speak and we actually had a few reports coming in during the evening hours of some cocktail blues on mullet. Mullet is the bait right now if you want to target the Blues in the area. We had a 2.5lb Fluke weighed-in by Polish Al. He had his limit Thursday from the surf. Decent amount of Mullet pouring out the inlet. Our guys loaded us up so we have plenty for Friday! Fridays weather…. Lots of Sunshine. High 77. Winds West 10-15mph.

9/19 Thursday

Tough conditions most of the day Wednesday but we did send some guys out and we did hear more of the same with the blues you just needed some heavier lead. Actually heard of a decent amount of fluke too which was surprising with the way the ocean was. Don’t forget Saturday is the last day of the Fluke season! Weekend weather is looking great. Tomorrws weather… Mostly Sunny. High 70. Winds NE 10-20 mph. We have plenty of Fresh Mullet which is the bait right now.

9/18 Wednesday— More of the same!

The bait bite continues with the cocktail blues. Lots of them again. Mullet on a mullet rig is all you need right now. We talked to a few anglers that fished artificials right next to the guys crushing them on mullet and they couldn’t get a bite! I think that’ll change soon. More NE winds for Wednesday… Sunny. High 73. Winds NE 10-20mph. We have a ton of Fresh Mullet in stock. Our mullet guys dropped off a FRESH batch Tuesday night.

9/17 Tuesday— Tons of Cocktail Blues on the Surf!

Monday was a good day if you like the smaller blues. Tons of them reported all day all over. Fresh Mullet on a mullet rig is working better than anything else right now. We have a TON of Fresh Mullet in stock.. It’s been a pretty good start to the Mullet run. Hopefully it only continues. Tuesdays weather…. Clouds and Sun. High 76. Winds NE 10-15mph. Looks pretty fishy.

9/15 Sunday–Lots of cocktail Blues and the mullet are thick!

We had a lot of Bluefish reported Saturday. The Mullet are very thick in the area right now. The conditions were not the best but there was fish around. The NJBBA had their kids tournament on Saturday and there was 95 kids entered and there was 95 fish caught! Pretty darn good if you ask me! Almost everything we heard Saturday was mullet on a mullet rig. Few anglers got them on heavier metal. We’re still hearing of a few bass on the surf. Most of them being caught are by the guys fishing for blues so maybe it’s time to start targeting them?? Conditions look much better for Sunday especially in the afternoon.

9/14 Saturday– St. Croix Rod Demo Day!

Saturday is St. Croix rod demo day here at the shop! 10am-1pm. Come cast the new series of surf Rods from St. Croix. It’ll be on the park lawn in front of the shop. Just show up!

More of the same Friday. Conditions were pretty tough all day with the NE winds but we did hear of more nicer size blues on mullet. Actually heard of a couple fat bass caught just under keeper size. We’ll see what Saturday brings…

9/13 TGIF!

We got some decent reports in the morning hours of more Bluefish and Spanish mackerel. Our good customer Virginia Jack told us about a lot of fish breaking just out of casting distance in the afternoon. The wind got pretty nasty in the later afternoon so we didn’t hear much then. We got some NE winds coming Friday so we’ll see what that brings. Should get the mullet pouring out.

9/12 Thursday

Not as many anglers out Wednesday but we did get reports again of cocktail Blues on mullet and more Spanish Mackerel on epoxy jigs. I also talked to couple anglers that had blues almost every cast on artificials. Right spot at the right time. Most of the blues are under 4lbs but are fun on lighter tackle. We have plenty of Fresh Mullet available for you bait guys! We got a couple  good deliveries Wednesday. More Scabelly 3.5″ and 5″ Gliders! Still some good colors to choose from but they’re going fast. We also received 2 boxes of the HOT Tsunami SALTX 6000 Spinning reels.. These reels have been a hit and have been hard to keep in stock. Fully Sealed! $379.99. Right now we have 15 in stock. We’re still waiting on the 4000’s.  Should be soon..

Don’t forget this Saturday September 14th is St. Croix Rod Demo Day at the shop! Come cast the new line-up of St. Croix Surf Rods. This event is always a great time. It’ll be held on the park lawn from 10am-1pm in front of the shop. No need to sign-up just show up!

9/11 Never Forget!

We pause to remember the events of that tragic day, as well as honor the victims and the heroism of first responders. Never Forget!

Fishing report- Good action once again. Lots of small blues and more Spanish mackerel reported. The Bluefish are on both bait and artificials. Fresh Mullet on a mullet rig has been the most productive. There’s still some Fluke in the suds! Season ends soon so go get them before it’s to late!
