12/13 Friday–Still good!

The fishing remains good! It hasn’t changed much. Heard of a lot of nice catches once again. Some had over 20 fish. AVA’s, Teasers, Tsunami/Bill Hurley Eels remain your best bet. Work the surf until you find them. I expect it to only continue into Friday. Weather looks decent.

Don’t forget! This weekend is our St. Judes Grumpy Santa Event! 100% of all donations raised will go to St Judes Childrens Hospital! Not only will you get the privilege to sit on his lap but you’ll also be able to help a child in need.. Due to so many people calling we’re going to extend this event to both Saturday 12/14 and Sunday 12/15. 7am-1pm Saturday and 7am-noon on Sunday. We’ll have goodies and treats for everyone that comes. Pets are welcome! We hope to see everyone!

12/12 Thursday– Fantastic reports yet again..

Winter is settling in but someone tell the Bass! Some of the best fishing of the season is going on right now. It’s still quantity over quality but there is some keeper fish around if that’s what you’re looking for. Not a lot of guys out again but the reports were coming in. Down size your gear if you want to have fun. Shell E. Caris told us he has 25 bass to 24″ with double headers all in the snow Wednesday morning. Tsunami Eels on a smaller rod was producing. Most of the reports came from the Seaside to IBSP Surf. Weather is looking good for Thursday. I expect this to only continue…

12/11 Wednesday

The weather held most back Tuesday but we did hear of more bass by the anglers that went out. Everything we heard was schoolie size. We’re at that time of the year where there’s more fish than fisherman! Weather for Wednesday is calling for some snow in the morning but the winds look good. All Fresh bait deliveries are done for the season. We’re going to stay on our normal business hours of 430am-10pm. Our Winter hours are going to start the day after Christmas which will be 7am-7pm Everyday!

12/10 Tuesday– Nasty weather but good fishing!

The crummy weather on Monday held most back but the anglers that hit the surf were rewarded with some bass. We actually heard of some keeper size bass too. Like we said in yesterdays report bring an assortment of lures with you. AVA’s, Sandeel Teasers, Shads, Mag Darters, SP’s to name a few. Looks like we have more nasty weather for Tuesday but the fish are here so dress properly and hit the suds.

We had lots of people call the past few days about the St. Judes Grumpy Santa Event so we’re going to extend it to both Saturday and Sunday! Details below…..

12/9 Monday— Slow start but phenomenal ending!

I’ll quote Shell E. Caris after talking to him Sunday night.. “Slow start in the morning but we stayed on the move and found them heavy later on in the morning. Best fishing I had in a few years”. To us that speaks volumes. It started slow but got much better later on. The most important thing is staying on the move. Shop employee Sheldon and friend David got over 20 Bass in the evening. They reported Peanuts in the wash getting chased on the beach. All their Bass were caught on Midway JB Minnows. The fishing was very good the 2nd half of the day. Little bit of everything is working because of all the different bait in the area. Sandeels, Peanuts, and Sea Herring were all reported. We’re also hearing of some small white bait around. This Fall Run started late but has really kicked in the past couple weeks. Are they big bass? No! Downsize your gear and go have some fun. Most of the bass being reported are in the 18-25” range. Looks like we have some weather coming in for Monday. We’ll update if we hear anything!

12/7 Saturday– December Schoolies!

Good reports again but it also depended on who you talked to. Some guys smoked them while some struggled. Stay on the move until you find them! Metals and teasers is still the way to go but with some peanuts and sea herring around it can’t hurt to throw shads or even some top water swimmers. Most of the bass are schooolie size but don’t be surprised if you catch one well over 28″. There was some really good life just to the north of us. The boats were practically on the beach in certain areas. The weather for Saturday looks great! NW Winds. Dress warm gonna be chilly. We got in our last delivery of Fresh Bunker of the season if you want to throw bait. Should see some action Saturday…

12/6 Friday— Good fishing and better size..

The fishing remained good Thursday and the size was much better. Heard of a few well over keeper size caught.. Lots of bait in the area too. More than there has been for weeks. Sandeels, Rainfish, Peanuts, and we’re now hearing of Sea Herring which is big! Water temps are still prime and the life is really good right now. Put your time and you’ll catch.

12/5 Thursday– Another good day!

Good action all over again. We heard of fish from first light to right before dark. Didn’t hear much in the dark but not a lot of guys went out. All the bass we heard of were schoolie size. If you want to have fun down size your gear. We had guys fish lighter 8′ rods and have a blast Wednesday. We’re not dealing with big fish right now. It’s quantity over quality as of right now but if we get some sea herring along the beach this month that could change. Right now most of these fish are feeding on Sandeels. Shell E. Caris came in during the afternoon and reported good action on Tsunami Sandeels. There’s only a few things you need right now. Plastic Eels, Skinny Metals, and a teaser above your lure! We have a ton of Sandeel Teasers in the shop to choose from. Shell E. and Bob Bott dropped off a mess Wednesday.

Orders that arrived Wednesday…. Shimano Twinpower XD’s, Bill Hurley Eels, Sandeel teasers, and StormR Jackets and Gloves. Bob our Rod Builder also put out (4) Custom Spec Rod Geek XC733’s.. They’re built spiral wrapped in four different colors. Perfect rod for tog fishing. Check them out!

12/4 Wednesday– Bass in the evening.

It was quiet most of the day with not a lot of guys out but we finally started getting good reports in the evening. Store Regular Steve Mederios reported good action on metals and teasers locally. It was a nice bounce back after not hearing anything the past couple days due to the weather. Metals and teasers are still the way to go but if you have the right conditions try fishing the Tsunami or Bill Hurley Eels. Before the crummy weather we were also hearing of bass in the dark on needlefish. Looks like we’re going to have WNW Winds for the foreseeable future. I expect to hear some good things this week.

We got in a lot of stuff Tuesday as we get ready for Christmas. We brought back a clothing favorite! The Grumpy Girl Sweatpants are back! Sizes Small to XL. Grey color. They retail for $26.99 and we have a bunch in stock! Here’s a list of some of the items that came in Tuesday: SuperStrike Needlefish, Tsunami Eels, Tsunami SaltX 6000’s, More Daiwa BG Series Reels, and a bunch of fill-in items.

12/1 Sunday

December is here but don’t let that discourage you from fishing. December can have some of the best fishing of the year especially for quantities of fish. On Saturday we had Bass reported throughout the day again. Seems like if you found them you caught a lot of them. Some guys struggled but most caught well. Everything we heard Saturday was schoolies size. Looks like we got some weather coming in Sunday but the morning should be fishable and they could bite well with the pressure dropping. We’ll update our social media pages if we hear anything..
