Much better reports! Blues and Bass in Surf…

Tuesday was a good day on the surf. Good life in the area. We had a bunch of our regulars come back and report countless cocktail Bluefish and some had some good bass. This time it wasn’t all on bait. Bucktails, Kettlecreek Shads, Poppers, and Metals all produced. If you want to fish bait use either Clams or Bunker for the bass and Bunker or Mullet for the blues. We had one gentleman come back and report over 15 bluefish on mullet on a mullet rig. Even hearing of some Fluke in the wash now. The black drum are also making an appearance in the surf! We had a nice 16.5lber come in Monday evening. Water temps are in prime range now and it’s time to fish. In the bay it’s hit and miss. Some are doing well and some just can’t put it together. When targeting the Bluefish in the bay use poppers. Warmer weather looks like it’s starting to show in the forecasts. The fishing should only improve!

Our walk-up window is open EVERYDAY 430am-8pm! Please wear a mask to the window. We appreciate all our customers during these crazy times. Don’t be afraid to ask us about rods, reels, or tackle when coming to the window! We can run out anything outside to you and give you the service you deserve. Consider us your personal shopper! We’re starting to see some light at the end of the tunnel now. Lets fish through this thing!

Best reports of the season came in on Monday..

The best reports of the early spring season came in on Monday. Countless reports of Stripers ranging from 22-27″ all on clams or bunker. Still haven’t heard much on artificials off the surf. In the backbay there’s more Bluefish starting to move in especially in the northern part of our bay. Poppers, Plugs, or bunker chunks if you want to target them. Had one of our regulars catch a jumbo on one of the local docks using bunker. Wind the next couple days doesn’t look the best for out front but the bay will be fine! Give it a shot.. Don’t forget Fluke Season opens this Friday! We have everything you need for them. We just got loaded up on bucktail from SS Bucktails. Also starting to hear of some crab reports and lots of Blowfish in the bay!

We did get more stuff in on Monday/Tuesday. Here’s a list: Van Staal Reels, Frogg Togg Waders, Tsunami Rods, Gulp, and SS Bucktails. Holiday Weekend weather looks pretty good right now. Don’t forget all sales have been directed to our Walk-up Window. No one is allowed in the store as of right now. Just please wear a mask to the window and we’ll get you whatever you need. Consider us your personally shopper! We’re going to remain on our schedule of 430am-8pm everyday. When restrictions get loosened a little more we’ll go to 10pm.

Bass in the Surf! Blues in the bay!

We’re hearing of Bass in IBSP and Seaside Park surf each day. Still seems to be a bait bite in our area. All the bass being reported are ranging from 18″-30″. There’s definitely some keeper size Bass around though. Remember the NEW 2020 Striped Bass regulations are 28″ to under 38″. We got in 40 shucked bushels of Clams Wednesday so we’re loaded up right now! Seems Clams are out producing Bunker at the moment. We also received a cooler full of Fresh Bunker Wednesday evening. Hearing some encouraging reports on the Bluefish front as well. Seems more Bluefish have moved into the bay the past couple days. All assorted sizes too. We’ve heard of them anywhere from 2-10lbs locally. You can try Bunker chunks, small poppers, SP Minnows. Any bay access locally right now gives you a chance at them. Also wanted to mention the Blowfish that have appeared out front. Everyday we’re hearing of them! Might be worth throwing a blowfish rig with a small piece of clam. Also don’t forget Fluke Season opens May 22nd! We’re already getting ready for Fluke at the shop. We got in the NEW S&S Bucktail Rattletail 2.0! Going to be a killer this season. He literally nailed all the Gulp colors with these Bucktails. Ask us to see them! Our Curbside Window in open 430am-8pm EVERYDAY. We’re here for you guys just please remember for your safety and ours PLEASE WEAR A MASK to the walk-up window. We appreciate everyone being so great during these crazy times.

Fishing Report..

Lots of small to keeper size bass reported once again along the beach Thursday. Fresh Shucked Clams remains the bait right now. A simple Hi-lo rig with a smaller piece of clam is the way to go. We’re also hearing more and more about the rivers and bays starting to produce more blues. The Blowfish are making an appearance in both the bay and surf. We had several anglers come up to our window and report tons of little bites out of their clam. Few lucky anglers started catching them using small hooks. Everything is coming together we just need to be smart!

Our hours of operation for our walk up window will be 430am-8pm EVERYDAY! Please wear a mask or face covering to the window for your safety and ours. Everyone has been great. We appreciate all our customers during these trying times..

We’re hearing some rumors of the town beaches opening this week as well. Things are starting to fall in to place with openings but we all must remember to follow the rules that are in place. Social distancing is key right now! When we get more updates on the town beaches we’ll announce it. The fishing on the beach is actually pretty darn good right now. We had reports come in all day Monday mostly all on bait. Both clams and bunker were producing. Heard of more blues in the bay too on artificials. Don’t forget we now have a walk-up window! It’s been working out perfectly for our customers. Please remember to wear a mask or face covering to the window! We appreciate all the cooperation and support. Walkup window is open 430am-8pm EVERYDAY!

NEW Walk-up Window! New Hours!

First thing we want to mention is it’s no secret but IBSP is opening this Saturday at Sunrise. Lets not blow this! The governor came out yesterday and said this is a crucial test that we must pass and if they see what they saw the 1st week of April with people not obeying the rules he will shut it down again. I think we speak for everyone when we say FOLLOW THE RULES! Social distance yourself, wear a face covering, avoid crowds, and we can fish through this thing. Thank you!!!!

We now have a Curbside Walk-up window for all purchases! It’s now in the 2nd door out front. You can’t miss it! Neon lights all over. For your safety and ours please wear a mask or face covering to the window and please social distance yourself from other customers. We believe this is the best way to go about business until further notice. Our customers have been in love with this new window. We’re also switching our hours to 430am-8pm EVERYDAY! We have plenty of FRESH BAIT for the weekend. Fresh Shucked Clams, Fresh Bunker, Blood Worms, Frozen Mullet, Chum Logs. We appreciate all the support and we look forward to lots of Fish Pics this
weekend.
