Bass in the Surf! Blues in the bay!
We’re hearing of Bass in IBSP and Seaside Park surf each day. Still seems to be a bait bite in our area. All the bass being reported are ranging from 18″-30″. There’s definitely some keeper size Bass around though. Remember the NEW 2020 Striped Bass regulations are 28″ to under 38″. We got in 40 shucked bushels of Clams Wednesday so we’re loaded up right now! Seems Clams are out producing Bunker at the moment. We also received a cooler full of Fresh Bunker Wednesday evening. Hearing some encouraging reports on the Bluefish front as well. Seems more Bluefish have moved into the bay the past couple days. All assorted sizes too. We’ve heard of them anywhere from 2-10lbs locally. You can try Bunker chunks, small poppers, SP Minnows. Any bay access locally right now gives you a chance at them. Also wanted to mention the Blowfish that have appeared out front. Everyday we’re hearing of them! Might be worth throwing a blowfish rig with a small piece of clam. Also don’t forget Fluke Season opens May 22nd! We’re already getting ready for Fluke at the shop. We got in the NEW S&S Bucktail Rattletail 2.0! Going to be a killer this season. He literally nailed all the Gulp colors with these Bucktails. Ask us to see them! Our Curbside Window in open 430am-8pm EVERYDAY. We’re here for you guys just please remember for your safety and ours PLEASE WEAR A MASK to the walk-up window. We appreciate everyone being so great during these crazy times.
I wanted to let our customers know that Seaside Park has lowered their Speed Limit to 25mph so please drive slow in town. They’re also enforcing parking meters if you plan on parking near the beach. The Seaside Park beaches are open 24/7 to FISH! Just practice Social distancing and avoid crowds. There hasn’t been any issues as far as we know and everyone seems to be following the guidelines. IBSP is open as well with 5am-8pm hours. There’s no charge at the moment if you want to drive in to IBSP and park in one of the lots and fish.. Please be advised that a 2020 Mobile Sport Fishing Vehicle Permit is required to access the beach (Drive on). The permits must be attached to the vehicle prior to accessing the beach for fishing…No Exception. The Park office/Gatehouse & buildings are closed. These passes are ONLY available through the mail at:
